School trips & extracurricular activities

The Château de Meung-sur-Loire is a place for discovery and learning, ideal for school trips and extracurricular activities.

Through engaging visits tailored to each level, pupils discover history in a concrete, fun, and immersive way. Visits are offered from September to June, in French or English, and are adapted to the age of the pupils and the themes covered in class.

Our educational visits

Fun visit

About 1 hour

Pupils, from nursery to secondary school, visit the château accompanied by their teacher or supervisor.

A pedagogical document is provided to accompany the discovery.

Guided tour

About 1 hour

Guided by a speaker in costume, the pupils discover daily life at the castle in Joan of Arc's time.

Custom visit

About 1 hour

The pupils are going on an expedition through History.

After equipping themselves, they learn to defend themselves, to feed themselves and to survive the trials of the past.

Children's costumes provided

Royal visit

Around 1 hour 15 minutes

A visit specially designed for cycles I. The children become Princes and Princesses of the castle:

– making crowns (30 min),

– Discovery of the castle and its codes (45 min).

Storytelling visit

Around 1 hour 15 minutes

Guided by the guide in costume, the children discover the castle through the prism of fairy tales, moving from the imaginary to reality: the symbolic dimension of the tale becomes a means of explaining society and understanding relationships between individuals… and of creating a tale specific to the class!

Fantastic animal visits

Around 1 hour 15 minutes

Guided by the guide in costume, the children discover the fantastic bestiary from the Middle Ages to the present day, in search of the dragon of St Liphard…

Visit "Château Life"

Around 1h30

Designed for secondary school pupils, this tour immerses students in the organisation of the château during the Belle Époque, exploring both breaks and continuities.

Educational workshops

Bespoke workshops are possible (heraldry, medieval weaponry, etc.), upon request.
